Marriage Equality is now the Law of the Land. And, as such, much of the work done by the Hooker Forum in the Diocese of Colorado is now complete, And, yet....
While there is not yet full equality for the GLBT community in many day-to-day activities, there is progress. We hope that progress will continue to be made, and full inclusion will happen in our lifetime.
This website will remain as a sentinel to our belief that all people are created equal, and that Christ is within all of us as a symbol of our connection to God, regardless of our sexual orientation. Should it be necessary to resurrect this website in defense of the rights of the LGBTQ community, it stands at the ready.
Richard Hooker (March 1554 – November 3, 1600): a prominent theologian at the time of the Elizabethan Settlement (1558-1570), Hooker was the first to articulate the position that Church decisions should be grounded in a combination of Scriptural revelation, ancient tradition and reason. This balanced decision-making approach is distinctive to Anglicans.
